At the heart of our 弗朗西斯can tradition is a belief that 学习 must extend beyond the textbook into action that benefits the human family. We encourage each other to be mindful of those who are unconnected 而且 to share our gifts with the broader 社区.
Service at Lourdes is not about “doing for,” it’s about “working with.” We know that we have as much to learn from others as they have from us.
Our commitment to 服务 has been recognized by the Corporation for National 而且 Community Service, which has named 圣母院大学 to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll 自2012年起每年.
校园 & 社区连接
Opportunities to connect with the 社区 abound for students, faculty 而且 staff. Student organizations are challenged to incorporate 社区 outreach into their annual activiites 而且 athletic teams regularly participate in 服务 projects. 校园部 offers weekly 而且 monthly outreach projects, such as the Labre项目，以及 任务之旅 over spring 而且 summer break.
In the 1990s, faculty began incorporating 服务学习 opportunities within their coursework. Since 2012 all students been required to participate in 服务学习 experiences as part of a Core Curriculum requirement.
